AutoVIP at ecovelocity

AutoVIP directors Paul Walker and Jeremy Fenn paid a visit to the Ecovelocity Motor Festival in London yesterday.

The show was very interesting as AutoVIP have just launched a new venture www.evmart.co.uk which is a portal for eco cars, vans, bikes and scooters.

The star of the show was undoubtedly the Vauxhall Ampera which was also unveiled as the What Car Green Awards Winner for 2011. The car which is Europe’s first E-REV(Extended Range Electric Vehicle) will be available in showrooms from 2012. The Ampera will be the first electric vehicle for everyday use uses a patented Voltec propulsion system which drives the wheels powered by a lithium ion battery pack. The clever bit kicks in when the battery pack is running low the vehicle seamlessly engages a range extended which is basically a 1.4l petrol driven engine/generator which re charges the batteries as you drive along pushing the car to its 350 mile range. Genius we think and loved the drive of the car as well. Another huge plus is the warranty. We were advised by the staff that the car will come with a comprehensive 8 year warranty which includes the batteries. With the car retailing at approx 28k after the Government subsidy we believe that this car will be a big hit.

Other mentions go out to the Hyundai Hydrogen Fuel Cell car which we believe is the future for all cars. The car was smooth and quick to say it runs on hydrogen!!

Our favourite car at the show was the British built Lightning GT which boasts a 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds and a top speed of 175 MPH. All this with a 150 mile battery range. We wish the Lightning GT all the best it is a stunning looking Gran Tourer.

AutoVIP are currently looking to buy 4×4 vehicles for stock. If you have been thinking “I must sell my Land Rover” please call or apply online today.
